Food Friends

I LOVE food, I eat it EVERY day I love it so, which got me thinking… about food, and love and which foods loved other foods. Rhubarb! You’re thinking, rhubarb and custard! And you’re absolutely right, that’s how it started it off. Then luckily it got even sillier and ended up with me painting wonderfully romantic landscapes and positioning the food characters like movie stars in their sultry settings. Excitingly, in contrast to the passionate watercolour backgrounds, I have drawn the food items using nothing more than the pad on my computer. It’s not all fun and good larks however because, as in real life, not all love is reciprocated. In a very touching piece, with the working title of ‘Gammon and Pineapple’, the gammon slice is fleeing the embraces of the eager pineapple slices.

I feel like I’ve only just skimmed the surface of this subject so please contact me with suggestions of other trysts, good and bad within the world of food. I would encourage you to leave comments here, but I won’t be making that mistake again. I had no idea that so many people would get in touch, in multifarious languages like Russian, Chinese, even American and leave comments not about my thought provoking musings and lovely pictures but about their own weird and mainly medical products! People/automated machines set up to bombard blog comment sites, can be so insensitive… and greedy. Speaking of which, prints will be available of any or all of these nutritious pairings in various sizes. Do get in touch if you’re hungry… I mean interested.
